Tasting - 2012 Tres Ojos

Name: Tres Ojos Garnacha Calatyud
Variety: 85% Garnacha, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7%, 1% Syrah
Region: Calatyud
Country: Spain
Year: 2012
Price: $6.95

Winery review: "The wine has a brick red color with a bouquet of red raspberries, spice and white pepper. The palate is incredibly concentrated and rich. The modern styles of Garnacha in Spain are continuously being perceived worldwide as wines of extraordinarily good quality. This wine is fruity, juicy and shows a great depth, ripe tannins, length but yet with wonderful elegance and lightness." - WA 87 points, kysela.com

My review: A very basic red wine on the nose with aromas of plum, cherry, black currant, although I must say there seemed to be mask covering most of the aromas. The wine had nice legs. On the palate the wine brought flavors of cherry, and dark chocolate. Not for me.

This wine was tasted on its own with no food.
